If you're looking for a relaxing evening on the water, the Dawn approach may be just the ticket. I found this yacht cruise online and was able to make reservations via e-mail without having to pay anything until we actually got there. The Dawn Approach is anchored at the port in Fuengirola. They offer sunset sailings as well as lunch time cruises. We took the sunset BBQ cruise which began promptly at 7pm. The crew members were very knowledgeable of the boat's history and served drinks, for sale, during the cruise. After heading out from Fuengirola we were able to see up and down the Sun Coast, from beautiful Benalmadena down to Mijas. How far you go depends on the tide and the winds, and the crew willingly accepts help in raising the sails on this historic vessel.

After about 2 hours on the water, watching the birds, feeling the wind on your face, and for those who aren't used to sailing on a small vessel, having your tummy do somersaults over the waves, we returned to the pier to dine on a barbecue meal prepared by the Dawn Approach crew on deck. We were one of two pairs of honeymooners on board that night and were treated to a bottle of Cava with our meal. Overall, the staff is very friendly, the food was okay, and it was a good evening outing.
